Job Description

Chef Location: New Ross, Co. Wexford We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team in a residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals in line with residents’ dietary requirements and preferences.
• Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to a high standard.
• Maintain compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
• Plan daily food production and assist with menu planning and preparation.
• Manage stock levels, rotate supplies, and minimise food waste.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
• Work closely with the care home team to support the nutritional needs and wellbeing of residents.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food quality at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a healthcare, nursing home, hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• HACCP/Food Safety certification.
• Knowledge of special diets, allergens, and nutritional requirements is desirable.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
